When first starting with Substance Painter, I knew nothing about the science behind surfacing. On second thought, it’s not much better now 🙂 However, following along with Umberto Celetano and Andrew Comb’s tutorial doesn’t seem quite as complicated now. So this is why it’s baffling how in my ignorance, the settings I had for my computer configuration yielded better results than with ones set with a little knowledge. So if my program spontaneously resets itself to default due to a mandatory system update, can these magic settings be found by trial and error once more? Not a chance so far. Always, always old-school-style write stuff down since the backup preferences might not work.
